Scone Ingredients:
3 cups flour
2/3 cup sugar
1 ½ TBSP baking powder
2 sticks (1 cup) salted butter
1 egg
3 vanilla beans
¾ cup heavy cream
Vanilla Glaze Ingredients:
3 cups powdered sugar
½ cup heavy cream
1 vanilla bean
Scone directions:
Split and scrape out the beans and add to cream, mix and set aside for ½ hour Mix dry ingredients together in a separate bowl. Cut butter into pats & blend with dry ingredients until the dough forms a crumb like consistency. Mix vanilla cream & egg together then combine with butter/flour mixture.
Place mixture onto a floured surface and roll out into a rectangle. Cut the rectangle into small triangles. Bake at 350 degrees for 13 minutes or until done. Remove from oven and place on a wire rack to cool.
Vanilla Bean glaze directions:
Scrape out inside of bean, add to cream, set aside for ½ hour. Combine all ingredients, mix well and drizzle over scones when cool.
