The Vanilla orchid, planifolia originated in Mexico. Many years ago vanilla vines were transplanted to other countries and have been successful in production however these plants are artificially pollinated and due to different climates and soil conditions the vanilla in these other countries produce different flavors unlike the Planifolia of Mexico which has a sweet, creamy flavor.
Mexican vanilla beans are truly nature’s original beans. All other vanilla beans grown in other parts of the world are direct descendents of the original vanilla orchids of Mexico. It is due to the unique climate and growing conditions of Mexico, that Mexican vanilla beans contain the sweet, rich, creamy taste that people the world over have come to recognize as the “original” vanilla. In fact, in the days before artificial pollination, nature saw fit to provide only one species of honeybee, the Melipona Bee, to pollinate the beautiful and exotic vanilla blossoms. And…this bee exists only in Mexico!
Our beans are grown naturally, in an eco-friendly manner using citrus trees to support the vines and utilizing a natural mulch (no chemical fertilizers) to provide nourishment to the fragile vines.
It is this combination of personal care and perfect natural growing conditions that allow Vera Cruz Premium Mexican Vanilla Products to procure only the finest vanilla beans to be used in our proprietary curing and manufacturing processes.
